South Charlotte Myers Park and Dilworth, Southpark, the Arboretum Area, onto Ballantyne Country Club
South Charlotte are the historical suburbs of Charlotte, beginning at the turn of the last century with an electric streetcar serving the new community of Dilworth in 1895. Today, it is home to many of Charlotte’s elites, doctors, lawyers and politicians call Myers Park, Southpark or South Charlotte home.
As you head south on Providence Road, you travel down a main artery of Charlotte, passing the impressive Myers Park Presbyterian, Myers Park Methodist, St Gabriels Catholic church on out to Temple Beth El, all on the same road, a testament to the roads importance. Terrific schools populate the area, from Myers Par HS, to Providence and Ardrey Kell HS further south.
Today South Charlotte extends to the Union county line, and includes Ballantyne, Southpark and Matthews, with growing southwest Charlotte continuing the tradition of great neighborhoods and here they have a lake! Much of this area is not that easy to search, because there aren’t that definite borders for all of these areas. For closer to town results, try zip codes 28203, 28204, and 28205, then further out but still inside Rt 51, 28209, 28210, 28226, 28227, and parts of 28270.
Outside Rt 51 is 28270, 28277 (Ballantye -pictured on right, and Providence Country club) and28278 for southwest Charlotte. As always, call me direct if you need help, or questions answered, no obligation, happy to help at 704-351-1519
