Dilworth Homes in Charlotte. Dilworth was Charlotte’s first suburb, its arts and crafts homes connected by trolley car to the city in about 1905. Today, it is one of the largest collections of Craftsman style bungalows on the east coast. Still enormously convenient, home renovations, house tear downs and re-builds- they began in the late 80’s, and picked up steam through the 90’s. There are still additions and infill going on today. Today, the action is to the west in Wilmore, Villa Heights to the south in Sedgefield and then all along South Blvd around the train stations starting in historic South End in Dilworth.
