Custom Home Communities In Charlotte|The Club at Longview

Custom Homes, Luxury Living at the Club at Longview
Where to start? Is it the Jack Nicklaus Golf Course? The 28,000 square foot clubhouse? Or the location, just minutes to the Charlotte Airport, but in low tax Union county, the fastest growing county in North Carolina.
Maybe it is the unbelievable custom homes available in Longview- the finest custom homebuilders in Charlotte build here.
Village homes- smaller lots, elegant custom from $1.2-1.8. Custom Estate Home prices start from 1.5M and range to over $3M and there isn’t an established top end. There is one home that is in the $8-10M range- it is under contract and construction; in the last year, 2 homes have sold over $3M, and 5 over 2M.
Of all the homes for sale, the median home price is $2.49M, has about 7000 sf, and is on the 6th fairway. There are new inventory homes available, re-sales, and “buy a lot and build” opportunities. The home below? About $2.6 M, and we could do some what better.

Charlotte, NC Custom Homes|The Palisades Wins:Great Charlotte Values Under $2Million

South Charlotte Homes between $1.5Million and $2.0 Million: The Palisades, Ballantyne Country Club, High Gate, Piper Glen, Southpark, Myers Park– a South Charlotte tour de force!
I’ve spent the better part of last week preparing for a weekend client from the Pacific Northwest, a great family with young children ages 6 and 9. They looked at private schools Charlotte Country Day, Charlotte Latin and Providence Day, on Friday and we looked at homes in Ballantyne, High Gate, Piper Glen, Myers Park, SouthPark and the Palisades over the weekend.
For families moving to Charlotte, no decision looms larger than”Where To Live In Charlotte,”
the BIG question, sometimes asked, “Where would a family like ours be happy?” It is a big question because we have many very nice communities here-at every price point- yet until a family comes here and looks- it is a big question, and one each family has to answer for themselves. The same is true at $1.5 to 2Million, here is what this family decided…
To start, let the schools rule. The community has to be within a reasonable commuting/carpooling distance to the schools of choice. 2nd- The community has to have amenities, a place or places families gather where they can meet children and adults their own age- folks with young children– and amenities beyond golf as they are not big golfers. Both of these are wise and crucial choices that eliminate many nice communities, but keep the communities right for this family.
Two neighborhoods stood out- the Palisades and Ballantyne Country Club. Two former Homearama Houses, great values in the $1.65 M range caught their attention in the Palisades, one by Jas-Am, one by Regal in SW Charlotte’s fastest growing community. And they liked the feel and location of Ballantyne, we saw a large number of children playing outside.

I’m writing to introduce my Palisade Photo Gallery, on a very cool photo site, CharlotteCommunities.smugmug.com. Almost 30 are there: Longview, The Sanctuary, Lawson, Dilworth, Ballantyne and up north Sailview and The Point plus another 20 or so. These will be categorized under Community Photos and under the individual community name- so they should be easy to find here.
The news from the the Palisades is they have opened several new communities:
the Ranch, an Equestrian community, large lots from 350K, site of 2008 Homearama
Treetops- Custom, great location, by Kingswood from 899K
Montage- Golf course homes from $1.3M
High Cliff-Lakeview from the 800’s
Westerham- Gated Custom from the 600’s
I’ll be working on custom and non-custom inventory posts for later in the week.

The Palisades, SouthWest Charlotte NC|Charlotte New Homes
October 27th, 2007 Categories: Buying a new home, Charlotte Custom Homes, Charlotte New Home Developments-Builders, Charlotte Real Estate Market Reports, Move To Charlotte, SouthWest Charlotte-All, Terry's Top Ten New Home Communities, charlotte country clubs
The Palisades in Southwest Charlotte is the leading new home community in South Charlotte,
and one of the premier communities in the greater Charlotte region. I’ve been watching the Palisades take shape for two years, and I must say their commitment to detail, commitment to green space, and their dedication to providing a lifestyle sets this community apart.
A partial look at the amenities:
A Nicklaus 18 hole golf course, A Country Club, A Boat Club, Soccer (4 full size fields), A Town Center, and an Equestrian center.
Recently the tennis world came to the Palisades in an over 30 event that drew John McEnroe and Pete Sampras. Unfortunately, I didn’t get there, so I’ll be searching for some photos, if you have any won’t you send me a couple? thanks
A few Palisades photos…
