Charlotte Real Estate Market Update
In single family residential sales, the one week ending 5/17/08, there were: 444 Closed properties, and 549 new Pending contracts against 22,000 on the market in the 15 county region
In townhouses and condominiums, the one week ending 5/17/08, there were: 63 Closed Properties, and 88 new Pending contracts, versus 3,792 on the market in the 15 county area.
I like the increased sales velocity (about 25%) in the increasing amount of Pendings, these are new sales and represent people making decisions and agreeing on prices… about 25% more than roughly a month ago… Good News Sellers! But sellers remember, if you don’t have to sell this year, consider taking it off the market until fall or next spring- you are likely to help the neighbor who does have to sell and get a better price as well!

Things to Do This Week, Gentlemen Start Your Engines- The Coca-Cola 600 is Sunday at Lowes Motor Speedway
Speed Street, a 6 block block pary in Uptown Charlotte, begins Thursday at 11:00 in anticipation of this weekends Memorial Day race. Last year Speed street had ove 400,000 attendee’s- its busiest Thurday and Friday evenings, if you don’;t work there and are going there take the light rail Lynx, there are at least 5 stops in easy walking distance. I’d take to the Bobcat Arena exit
Charlotte is the #1 City in America to relocate to, according to Relocate America, an online relocation real estate service company that ranks the top 100 cities in America… no doubt our wonderful business climate (a pro-buisness city in a pro-business state)- our wonderful weather, and a warm and generous population, the majority from beyond the state’s borders.
