Hilary, it wasn’t a horror story, we loved the house, and I think the agent probably represented us well, we’ll just never know 100%…
Clearwater- yes some listing agents do have a different agenda, don’t they?

I have my own horror story from the first home we purchased 18 years ago, before buyer agency in Canada.
Buyer agency creates the right tension between seller and buyer representation, resulting in fairness. Charlotte buyers will benefit from professional help!

Wow Terry -what a comprehensive example of why Charlotte Home buyers need to have a real estate agent working for THEM! It’s amazing the number of home buyers that think they’ll get a better deal going straight to the Sellers Real Estate agent - sadly the only one smiling in the end is the Seller’s agent - who get’s to take twice as much money to the bank!!!

Terry- sometimes an important point is better illustrated with a personal story. A Buyer’s agent is a critical factor in full representation for a buyer, and it continues to be important for Charlotte buyers to be properly informed of their options.

Terry - This is exactly what the buyers in Charlotte need to hear. Many don’t realize the benefit of commiting to a buyer’s agent and the services they recive by doing so. I had no idea some states still default to representation of the seller in the absence of a buyers agency agreement. Yikes!
