Charlotte’s Whitewater Center will host the largest international sporting event in Charlotte’s history: Whitewater trials for the Beijing Olympics, April 25-27,
for the US Team, Canadian team, Argentina, Brazil, and Venezuela- as well as European countries–4 separate Olympic events will make this the largest whitewater event held in the US since 1996.
Why Charlotte? “Everyone wanted to come to Charlotte,”
said Chris Hipgrave, USA Canoe/Kayak Olympic Director–to try out the largest artificial recirculating whitewater park in the world. That’s me in the boat picture above, to the back far side, with some of the young people in my life (kids, boyfriend and girlfriend)… this place is so much fun! Here are a couple of videos to take you there.
